Newcastle 9th Business (Jeong-Min Park/ 박정민)

The tragedy of 1937 by Stalin
Koryo saram who was forced to move to Kazakhstan never forgot their root.

“Where are we going?” One child said.
His parent in tears didn’t answer to him.

Finally, Koryo saram reached a huge waste land.
They broke up the wild land.
Like a ‘Lonicera japonica’ (honey suckle), they survived in the wildness.
I thought that,

'What was the source of life force?'
Because of they were Korean.

'Why they struggled to protect Korean language?'
Because of they were Korean.

They never forgot their root.

One Koryo man has been recorded Korean traditional things such as ‘Pansori’ by traveling and researching for next generation. And also, to find out idea of homeland.

Koryo saram never gives up.
They sustained their identity through protect and share culture and language
.
It was very heart broking history.
